Review: US New Releases

92 Points: 2018 Mourvèdre, Estate

“This estate-grown mourvedre starts off heady and high toned, with scents of purple flowers and plum. With air, the headiness recedes and the wine streamlines into a compelling fruit-forward red with savory elements of mushroom, humus and smoke. It’s a long way from peak expression. Cellar.”

91 Points: 2019 Grenache Blanc, El Dorado

“Youthful and bright, this is at once angular and generous, with citrusy fruit and a wheaty, leesy richness. It would make an elegant aperitif.”
